Connecting with horses: mindfulness, yoga and natural horsemanship.

On this transformative course, we look at how to use mind, body and breath to communicate with horses. This course is suitable for people with no previous experience with horses who simply want to learn how to communicate with these wonderfully sensitive animals, right through to competitive horse riders who wish to increase their winning edge.

The course starts in the evening of the first day with dinner followed by an introductory talk and a short meditation and finishes at 4.30 pm on the last day, in time for you to leave the island with the evening boat. Each day will start with a two hours yoga class focusing on mindful movement and breath awareness. On Saturday and Sunday we will also have an evening yoga session which will focus on mindful breathing and meditation techniques. In the afternoons, we will do some practical work with the farm’s horses.  We will look at how horses communicate with one another, and how we can use posture, movement, breath and eye contact to communicate with them effectively. The cost of the course is €480 and includes shared full board accommodation (organic vegetarian food) and tuition in horsemanship, yoga and mindfulness.
