City Kayaking FAQ

When trying out a new activity you’re bound to have a few questions. Please have a read through our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) here. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us on

What do I wear?

One of the most commonly asked questions for us is “What do I wear?”. So here’s a quick guide to what to wear when you’re coming out with us at City Kayaking. We try to run things as dry as possible. That being said, Kayaking is a water sport and you’re going to get a bit wet, so be prepared!

We advise that you bring the following;

– Clothes and footwear for wearing on the kayak  (These will get wet!)

– A towel

– Change of clothes for afterwards

– If you have waterproof clothing or a wetsuit you can bring them to use if you wish

We have some splash proof trousers available for use on site should you wish to use them.

Can I hire a wetsuit?

This is a very popular option for people coming Kayaking with us. We have a range of wetsuit sizes available to hire for just €5, we advise that you pre book these however you can book and pay for them on arrival also.

Where do I find you?

Weather Policy

Activity takes place rain or shine. Our activities are  weather dependent, however it is the wind strength that limits us. We operate in a sheltered area and as a result rarely have to cancel activities. In the rare situation where the seller is forced to cancel the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule to another time (subject to availability).  We do ask that you dress appropriately for the weather.

Other Policies
Participants must sign a waiver at the start of the tour. All participants must sign a waiver at the start of the tour. Participants under 18 must have a parent or supervising adult present to sign for them.

Not suitable for pregnant women

Refund/Rescheduling Policy
Any cancellations must be made in writing no less than 5 days before the activity is due to take place. Non attendance will result in the full amount being forfeited. For groups of 10 people or more we require 10 days notice in writing.
