Beautiful Aerial Footage of Ireland

Ireland is blessed with some of the most stunning landscape and landmarks. Here are a few videos by Matthew Kelly of Drone Video Ireland that capture it excellently.

Newgrange in Meath is a focal point of 'Ireland's Ancient East'. It dates back to around 3000 BC, making it older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids. It is aligned with the rising sun and its light floods the chamber during the Winter Solstice.

Grianán of Aileach is a group of ancient structures atop a 244 metre hill in Donegal. The stone ring fort is said to have been built by Dagda, a King of the Tuatha de Dannan in 1700 BC. Grianán was the residence of the Uí Neill (O'Neill), High Kings of Ireland during the fifth century and was later the seat of the O'Donnells, Chieftans of Donegal. In prehistoric times, it is believed to have been a place of sun worship or the place of hibernation of Gráine, a Celtic Sun Goddess.

Poulnabrone Dolmen is a portal tomb in The Burren Co Clare dating back to the Neolithic period, between 4200 BC and 2900 BC. Poll na mBrón means 'hole of the quern stones'. The Dolmen consists of a 12 foot, thin, slab-like, tabular capstone, supported by two slender portal stones. The capstone is six foot from the ground.
